Role Overview – Senior Ship Broker Mumbai

The Senior Ship Broker will be responsible for fixing vessels and cargoes between ship owners, operators, and charterers. The role requires strong negotiation skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage fixtures from initial negotiation to post-fixture coordination.

Candidates must have practical knowledge of dry bulk chartering and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

Vessel & Cargo Fixing

• Identify and fix vessels and cargoes between owners, operators, and charterers.

• Maintain continuous communication with ship owners and charterers.

• Negotiate freight rates and commercial terms.

Chartering Documentation & Coordination

• Draft charter parties and fixture notes.

• Resolve issues arising from concluded fixtures.

• Coordinate with agents, post-fixture desks, and other brokers.

• Ensure smooth operational follow-up after deal closure.

Business Development

• Conduct local and international market research.

• Expand company presence in the dry bulk segment.

• Build relationships with prospective global clients.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of direct dry bulk chartering or operations experience.

• Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability.

• Proven ability in negotiation and relationship management.

• Global networking exposure preferred.
