About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Risk and Controls Analyst to support the implementation and monitoring of risk and control activities within the First Line of Defense (1LoD). This role will focus particularly on Segregation of Duties (SOD) controls, ensuring operational risks are effectively identified, mitigated, and reported in compliance with global internal control standards.
You will report to the Operations Manager and closely collaborate with the Head of Operations for one of our international network countries.
Key Responsibilities:
Segregation of Duties (SOD):
- Coordinate and execute SOD control activities including:
- Facilitating user access reviews
- Maintaining the registry of mitigating controls
- Tracking and reporting on SOD Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Deliver training sessions to First Line teams on SOD principles, access control importance, and conflict mitigation.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on SOD topics and assist users with the SOFY tool used for monitoring SOD conflicts.
- Prepare and present quarterly SOD reports to the Regional Risk Committee.
- Monitor access revocation for employees who have transitioned roles and ensure timely user recertification for both 1LoR and 2LoR teams (twice yearly).
Risk and Control Activities:
- Support 1LoR teams in updating control descriptions and performing risk assessments using the Risk Management Tool (Archer).
- Conduct monthly quality control reviews and support registration of operational risk incidents.
- Manage and support ad hoc risk and control projects as assigned.
Candidate Profile:
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Operational Risk, Equipment Finance, Compliance, or related domains.
- Prior exposure to Segregation of Duties (SOD) principles and risk control frameworks.
- Proficient in project management with the ability to execute cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Quick learner with the ability to navigate new systems and train others effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to challenge and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
- Familiarity with global standards and compliance procedures is a strong advantage.
Preferred Background:
- Risk, Compliance, Operational Risk, Internal Controls, or Financial Services.
