General Manager Sales – Metal Alloy

Job Description:

Personal Profile: We are looking for a male with at least 10-20 years’ experience in sales and marketing and at least 5 years’ experience in leading a small sales team.

It would be helpful if the sales and marketing was in a relevant field such as:

a) For an indenting/trading house

b) Raw materials for the electrical, electronics, automotive, oil & gas industry

c) Chemicals/petrochemicals

Educational Background: Technical Background (B.Sc, B.E.,diploma) preferred.Alternatively BMS, BBA, or B.Com – but then with proven sales experience

Basic skills: Fluency in English and Hindi is a must along with good communication skills, both oral and written. Should also be comfortable with making presentations to customers.

Should have prior experience in leading a sales team.

Should be able to work together remotely with the management team based in Mumbai to set targets and achieve them for the branch office in Delhi.

Basic computer skills – MS Office, Emails, Skype are required. Will be required to regularly prepare presentations, write reports, etc.

Other Skill-sets: Should have previous experience successfully working with a sales team. Prior experience of working with international suppliers/clients will be a big advantage.

Background of sales in commodities – metals, chemicals, etc. is preferred.

Knowledge of Import-Export Norms, relevant procedures, will also be a big advantage.

The company is a 71-year old company representing several European producers of industrial raw-material such as metal alloys, chemicals, gelatin as well as semi-engineered goods such as components for industries like the Watch Industry, Electrical and Electronic Industry, Automotive Industry, Aerospace Industry and the Defense industries. The Delhi office has been set-up almost 50 years ago and operates to serve the customers in the Delhi NCR region, along with other north and central zones and also the Eastern belt which has various aluminum and iron and steel industries.

The Branch Manager will be responsible for maintaining the healthy P&L of the Delhi office. He will need to understand all the products which the company markets and then identify which of these are key for his region. He will need to come up with a marketing plan and execute the same together with the sales team. Quarterly progress will need to be discussed with the management team in Mumbai and annual goals to be set. He will be responsible for ensuring the team discipline and motivation, so good interpersonal skills and prior experience of handling a small team is vital.
