As a Credit Underwriter, you will be responsible for assessing and managing credit risks for a diverse portfolio, ensuring adherence to underwriting principles, and driving proactive risk management strategies. This role demands strong analytical and decision-making skills to optimize portfolio performance while maintaining compliance with internal policies.
Key Responsibilities :
- Credit Limit Underwriting: Evaluate and approve credit limits for domestic and/or non-domestic markets, including political risk assessments.
- Risk Assessment: Assess risk exposure for potential new covers/bonds and manage standard or non-standard risk portfolios, including structured finance environments.
- Underwriting Strategy: Set strategies for buyer groups, sectors, countries, or customer portfolios while reviewing and renewing bonding lines and risk ratings.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure adherence to internal procedures, recording decisions for internal and external stakeholders.
- Portfolio Monitoring: Track portfolio developments and adjust risk management approaches based on buyer assessments and market conditions.
- Proactive Risk Management: Modify underwriting strategies in response to economic fluctuations, ensuring optimal claims ratios.
Qualification And Skills :
- Educational Qualification: MBA (Finance specialization preferred).
- Experience: 2-4 years in credit underwriting, portfolio management, or structured finance.
